Michael Peterson is an associate professor in the department of computer science at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo. Dr. Peterson earned his Ph.D. in computer Science and Engineering from Wright State University in 2008. He also obtained his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Wright State University. He spent the past academic year as a visiting professor at the University of Alaska, Anchorage.

Dr. H. Keith Edwards is a professor at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo. He obtained his bachelors degree in mathematics and creative writing with a minor in comparative literature from the University of Michigan in 1993 and his master's degree in mathematics and computer science from Eastern Michigan University in 1999.

Dr. Shawon S. M. Rahman is a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo (UH Hilo). He is serving as the Faculty advisor of Pre-engineering program and the program director of Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics certificate program at UH Hilo. Dr. Rahman is serving as the editor-in-chief in the International Journal on Cryptography and Information Security (IJCIS) and guest editors to a few journals and also serving more than 15 conferences/journals as a reviewer and/or program committee member. Dr. Rahman is serving as the Member-at-large and Academic Advocate: Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo and Academic Advocate of the IBM Academic Initiative.

Dr. Travis Mandel is an assistant professor at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo who helps lead the development of the data science program, including both teaching and research. Before joining UH Hilo, he earned his PhD from the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Washington advised by Zoran Popović and Emma Brunskill (Stanford). Before that, he earned his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.

Dr. Winston Wu is an assistant professor in computer science at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo. He earned his PhD from Johns Hopkins University. His research interests are in natural language processing and computational linguistics, with a current focus on multilinguality, computational social science, and language revitalization.

Francis Cristobal is a Junior Specialist of the Computer Science Department and the Technical Lead of the Academy for Creative Media initiative at UH Hilo. He received his Master's degree in Management Information Systems with a specialization in Information Technology from Metropolitan State University. Francis' research focus is in scientific and data visualization. He also leads the CyberCANOE initiatives on the Big Island.
